I have to glue the 2X2 and the leather.

I found a 1-1/4" forstner to excavate the mortise for the nut a perfect size. I choped and paired the corners that I traced prior to drilling and a perfect octogon mortise was th resutls.

I thought this might help others.

Best regards,

Chris K. in MarylandAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2430989134966768004.post-70770309287511285932011-08-01T07:55:34.266-05:002011-08-01T07:55:34.266-05:00Joshua,

If we decide to offer them, we'll announce it here on the blog.Jameel Abrahamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15083855284894791544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2430989134966768004.post-84396204314505684952011-07-31T21:03:19.839-05:002011-07-31T21:03:19.839-05:00Cool! Looking at the McMaster site,( http://www.mcmaster.com/#acme-threaded-rods/ ) they stock a couple varieties of 3/4" 8tpi Acme screws - if one wanted to save a little dough and purchase only one set from you folks, but use the handwheels on a couple of things, any advice on which Acme threaded rods would work; the "general purpose", "precision" or "ultra smooth" (McMaster mentions the later two aren't quite compatible.)Joshuahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01799141206977457210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2430989134966768004.post-79101977213289953892011-07-28T07:24:22.113-05:002011-07-28T07:24:22.113-05:00Matt, That's an idea that's been kicking a...Matt, That's an idea that's been kicking around here for some time. I'm sure I'll break down and order it by the time christmas rolls around.

Jameel, these screws look a little short to use this hardware as a twin screw vise (like on a Holtzapffel bench), but one can only assume that's what's coming next? Seems like a natural progression after watching the video..

- MattMatt ONeillhttp://brokenfingerswoodworking.tumblr.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2430989134966768004.post-32504243920712447072011-07-26T18:17:52.583-05:002011-07-26T18:17:52.583-05:00Want!Want!nielscosmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09182654158167904964noreply@blogger.com
